Modern theme park architecture and hotel towers at Epic Universe

Hotels Near Epic Universe

Epic Universe changed the geography of a Universal trip. A hotel that has been convenient for Universal Studios Florida for twenty years is not automatically convenient for this one.

30-Second Verdict

Universal Helios Grand Hotel is inside the park and nothing else competes on convenience. Universal Stella Nova Resort and Terra Luna Resort were built for this end of the campus and cost far less. If you also have days at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, Cabana Bay or a central International Drive hotel spreads the compromise more evenly.

What changed when the third gate opened

Universal Orlando used to be a single compact cluster: two parks, CityWalk and a ring of hotels around them. Epic Universe opened in May 2025 on a separate site at the southern end of the campus, with its own entrance, its own parking and its own hotel.

The practical consequence is that Universal now has two centres of gravity. Hotels built around the original parks are still excellent for those parks and are a transfer away from Epic Universe. Hotels built for Epic Universe reverse that. There is no hotel that walks to all three gates.

Ask which parks a benefit covers

Early park admission and Express benefits at Universal are defined per hotel and per park, and Epic Universe is treated separately from the two original parks in more than one of those rules. Confirm the current terms with Universal before you book for a benefit.

The picks

Inside the park

Epic Universe★★★★

  • On-Site
  • New Hotel
  • Closest to Park
  • Walkable to a park
  • Works without a car
  • Pool
  • Spa

Helios Grand sits inside Epic Universe, which makes the walk from room to park the shortest relationship any Orlando hotel has with any gate. A mid-day break becomes a genuine option rather than a theoretical one.

Best for: Trips where Epic Universe is the whole point

Watch out: It opened with the park in 2025, so guest review volume is still limited. Confirm its benefit package with Universal rather than assuming it matches the older Premier hotels.

Value tier, built for this end

Universal Orlando★★★8.9/1076 reviews

  • On-Site
  • New Hotel
  • Best Value
  • Pool
  • Theme park shuttle
  • Works without a car
  • Fitness center

One of two value hotels opened alongside Epic Universe, with two-bedroom suites for six. It keeps the on-site early admission benefit at a fraction of the Helios rate.

Best for: Families who want to be near Epic Universe without the Helios rate

Watch out: Shuttle rather than walking, and very little review history to go on.

Best for a three-park Universal trip

Universal Orlando★★★8.5/106,040 reviews

  • On-Site
  • Best for Families
  • Family suites
  • Lazy river
  • Kitchenette
  • Works without a car

Cabana Bay sits between the two centres of gravity, with a walking path to Volcano Bay and Universal transport to everything else. For a week covering all three parks it is the most balanced on-site position.

Best for: Families visiting Epic Universe and the original parks

Watch out: It walks to Volcano Bay and to nothing else. Every park day starts with a shuttle.

Best on-site compromise with a resort pool

Universal Orlando★★★★8.7/102,187 reviews

  • On-Site
  • Best Value
  • Pool
  • Water slides
  • Walkable to a park
  • Works without a car

Walking access to the original parks, Universal transport to Epic Universe and the strongest pool outside the Premier tier.

Best for: Families who want the original parks on foot and Epic Universe by shuttle

Watch out: No Express benefit at this tier, at any park.

Best off-site with facilities

Convention Center, I-Drive★★★★8.5/10821 reviews

  • Verified
  • Pool
  • Water slides
  • Spa
  • Business facilities

Central International Drive puts Epic Universe, the original Universal parks and SeaWorld all within a short drive, and the resort pool deck gives you somewhere to be in the afternoon.

Best for: Travelers combining Epic Universe with the Convention Center

Watch out: No Universal benefits, and you will pay theme park parking or ride each day.

Best off-site rest day

Convention Center, I-Drive★★★★8.7/10461 reviews

  • Best Rest Day
  • Lazy river
  • Water slides
  • Pool
  • Spa

A lazy river and a large pool complex on the Convention Center side of I-Drive, close enough to reach Epic Universe quickly without paying an on-site rate.

Best for: Families who want a lazy river and a park schedule

Watch out: Resort fee and parking apply. Get the all-in nightly total.

Rosen Shingle Creek in Universal Boulevard
Quietest option nearby

Rosen Shingle Creek

Universal Boulevard★★★★9/102,551 reviews

  • Best Value
  • Pool
  • Spa
  • Fitness center
  • Business facilities
  • Theme park shuttle

A large resort on Universal Boulevard with golf and a quieter setting than the I-Drive strip, while staying in the Universal half of the city.

Best for: Adults, golfers and convention travelers

Watch out: It is a convention property first. Check what is booked for your dates.

Element Orlando Universal Blvd in Universal Boulevard
Best off-site kitchen near Epic Universe

Element Orlando Universal Blvd

Universal Boulevard★★★8.5/10630 reviews

  • Free Breakfast
  • Full kitchens
  • Free breakfast
  • Pool
  • Extended stay

Full kitchens and included breakfast on Universal Boulevard, which is the practical off-site position for the southern end of the campus.

Best for: Longer stays that want to cook

Watch out: A car or rideshare is part of the plan here.

The trade-off

The Epic Universe hotels are new, which means the least review history in Orlando and the newest rooms in Orlando. If you want certainty about what you are getting, the established Universal hotels have twenty years of feedback behind them and are a transfer away.

Common questions

Which hotel is closest to Epic Universe?

Universal Helios Grand Hotel, which is inside the park. Stella Nova Resort and Terra Luna Resort were built for the same end of the campus.

Do Epic Universe hotels include Universal Express?

Universal's Express benefit has historically applied at its three original Premier hotels and covered Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure only. How Epic Universe and Helios Grand are treated is set separately by Universal and should be confirmed with them directly before you book for that reason.

Can you stay at an older Universal hotel and visit Epic Universe?

Yes. Universal connects its campus with its own transport, and all on-site guests can reach all of the parks. It is a transfer rather than a walk from the older hotels, which is worth planning around at park opening.

Is it worth staying near Epic Universe if I am also doing the other parks?

Only if Epic Universe dominates the itinerary. For a three-park week, Cabana Bay or a Preferred hotel spreads the travel more evenly than committing to either end of the campus.
