New hotel buildings and open landscaping at Flamingo Crossings

Flamingo Crossings Hotels

Flamingo Crossings is the newest hotel cluster near Walt Disney World, and the quietest. Everything here was built in the last decade, and it shows in the rooms.

30-Second Verdict

Homewood Suites is the strongest all-round choice for a longer stay, with full kitchens and included breakfast. SpringHill Suites suits a family of four or five who want a suite, and Fairfield Inn & Suites is the value option for two or three nights.

Why the western side matters

Most off-site hotels near Disney sit on the eastern side, around Lake Buena Vista and Disney Springs. Flamingo Crossings sits by the western entrance, which makes it closer to Animal Kingdom and to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex than anything on the other side.

That is a specific advantage rather than a general one. For an EPCOT or Magic Kingdom trip, the eastern hotels are better positioned. For an Animal Kingdom week, or a youth sports tournament, this cluster is the obvious base.

The trade-off

Flamingo Crossings gives you newer rooms and a quiet setting close to one side of Disney. It costs you almost everything else: there is very little here beyond the town centre chains, and every evening out is a drive.

Common questions

Where is Flamingo Crossings?

On the western side of the Walt Disney World area, near Disney's western entrance and the Animal Kingdom side of the property. It is a newer development built around a town centre of shops and restaurants.

Is Flamingo Crossings good for Disney?

It is good for Animal Kingdom and for the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and less good for Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, which sit further east. It is also one of the quieter places to stay near Disney, which suits families with young children.

Do Flamingo Crossings hotels have Disney shuttles?

Provision varies by property and changes. Because this cluster assumes a car more than most, confirm the current shuttle arrangement directly with the hotel before planning around it.
