Hotel shuttle bus waiting outside an Orlando hotel entrance

Orlando Hotels with a Disney Shuttle

Free Disney shuttle is one of the most over-read phrases in Orlando hotel marketing. It can mean a bus every thirty minutes or three departures a day.

30-Second Verdict

Treat an off-site shuttle as a way to avoid theme park parking on some days, not as a transport system. If you need to come and go freely, either stay on Disney property or plan on a car or rideshares. The strongest off-site shuttle operations are at the large resorts: Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, Gaylord Palms and Four Seasons Resort Orlando.

What to ask before you rely on a shuttle

  1. Which parks does it serve? Some run to one park or to a single transfer point rather than to all four.
  2. How many departures? This is the number that matters, and it is the one hotels advertise least.
  3. Does it need a reservation? Several resorts run a sign-up system, and it fills.
  4. What time is the last return? If it leaves before the fireworks end, you are paying for a rideshare anyway.
  5. Is it included or charged? Some shuttles are part of a resort fee rather than free.
  6. Can it take your whole party at once? Capacity at peak times is limited.

Schedules are not published here on purpose

Shuttle timetables change by season and without notice, and an out-of-date departure time is worse than none at all. Confirm the current schedule directly with the hotel for your dates.

Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista / Orlando in Lake Buena Vista
Best budget shuttle near Disney

Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista / Orlando

Lake Buena Vista★★★9.2/10836 reviews

  • Free Breakfast

  • Theme park shuttle
  • Free breakfast
  • Pool

A reliable select-service hotel close to the Disney entrances with included breakfast and a scheduled shuttle, which is a lot of the practical value of a resort at a fraction of the rate.

Best for: Small parties who want breakfast and a shuttle at a low rate

Watch out: Limited departures. Confirm the timetable before planning a park day around it.

Galleria Palms Orlando in Kissimmee
Cheapest hotel with a theme park shuttle

Galleria Palms Orlando

Kissimmee★★★8.2/103,047 reviews

  • Best Value
  • Theme park shuttle
  • Pool
  • Budget

A small Kissimmee hotel whose shuttle is the reason to book it. At this price point, a shuttle is what stops a cheap room turning into a rental car bill.

Best for: Budget trips without a rental car

Watch out: Confirm the parks served and the timetable, because the shuttle is the entire proposition.

The trade-off

A shuttle saves you theme park parking and costs you flexibility. If somebody in the party will want to leave the park at two in the afternoon, a shuttle-only plan usually turns into a rideshare budget.

Common questions

Do Disney hotels have free shuttles?

Disney Resort hotels have complimentary Disney transport to all four theme parks by bus, boat, monorail or Skyliner, which runs throughout operating hours. That is a different product from an off-site hotel shuttle with a handful of scheduled departures.

Is a hotel shuttle better than driving to Disney?

It is cheaper, because it removes theme park parking. It is less flexible, because you travel on the hotel's schedule. For a family with young children who will want to leave mid-afternoon, driving or a rideshare usually wins even though it costs more.

Do Orlando hotels charge for their Disney shuttle?

Some include it, some fold it into a resort fee and some charge per person. Free shuttle on a booking page is not a reliable signal. Ask the hotel directly what the current arrangement is.
