Convention centre entrance and adjacent hotel towers in Orlando

Hotels Near the Orange County Convention Center

The Convention Center has two buildings connected by a pedestrian bridge, and which one your event is in decides which hotels are genuinely walkable.

30-Second Verdict

Hyatt Regency Orlando and Rosen Centre Hotel connect directly to the West Building. Rosen Plaza is a short walk. Hilton Orlando connects towards the South Concourse side. If you are bringing family, Hyatt Regency and Hilton are the two with pools that make the trip worth extending.

Check which building first

The Orange County Convention Center is split between a West Building and a North and South Building, linked by a pedestrian bridge over International Drive. A hotel that is attached to one is a walk from the other, which is fine in February and unpleasant in August.

Before booking, find the hall number for your event and check which building it sits in. It is the single most useful piece of information for a convention hotel decision, and it is usually printed on the event website rather than the hotel one.

The picks

Best overall for a convention

Convention Center, I-Drive★★★★8.5/10821 reviews

  • Verified
  • Pool
  • Water slides
  • Spa
  • Business facilities
  • Walkable to a park

A direct connection to the West Building removes the walk in Florida heat, and the pool deck is closer to a resort than a conference hotel, which matters when the trip runs long.

Best for: Exhibitors and attendees who want a real pool

Watch out: Rates rise sharply for the largest events. Book early for the big weeks.

Best for attendees bringing family

  • Best Rest Day
  • Lazy river
  • Water slides
  • Pool
  • Spa
  • Business facilities

A lazy river and a large pool complex mean the family has somewhere to be while you are in a session, which no other convention hotel here matches.

Best for: Convention trips extended into a holiday

Watch out: Resort fee and parking on top of the rate.

Most memorable option nearby

Castle Hotel, Autograph Collection

International Drive★★★★8.5/10897 reviews

  • Luxury Pick
  • Boutique
  • Pool
  • Walkable to a park
  • Fitness center

An Autograph Collection hotel within reach of the halls, for anyone who would rather not stay in a convention tower.

Best for: Travelers who want something other than a conference hotel

Watch out: Further from the halls than the connected hotels.

The trade-off

Connected hotels charge for the connection. If your event is three days in February, the walk from a cheaper hotel is a non-issue. If it is a ten-day install in July, the connection is the whole decision.

Common questions

Which hotels are connected to the Orange County Convention Center?

Hyatt Regency Orlando and Rosen Centre Hotel connect directly to the West Building, and Hilton Orlando connects towards the South Concourse side. Several others are a short outdoor walk.

Can I stay near the Convention Center and visit the theme parks?

Yes, and it is one of the better positions for it. Universal, Epic Universe and SeaWorld are all a short drive, and Disney is reachable. It is a much better base for a mixed trip than for a Disney-only one.

Do Convention Center hotels charge resort fees?

Several do, and several also charge for parking, which is a real cost on an expensed trip. Ask for the total nightly amount including all mandatory charges before comparing rates.
