Full kitchen in an Orlando resort villa with a hob and counter

Orlando Hotels with Full Kitchens

Feeding four people in Orlando restaurants for a week costs more than most people budget for. A kitchen is the single largest saving available on a long trip.

30-Second Verdict

For a large family near Disney, Sheraton Vistana Resort or Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake. For a kitchen on Disney property, the Cabins at Fort Wilderness or a Disney Vacation Club villa. For a hotel rather than a villa, Homewood Suites and Hyatt House are the reliable brands.

The extended-stay brands, Homewood Suites, Residence Inn, Hyatt House, Staybridge Suites, TownePlace Suites and Element, put a kitchen in every room as a brand standard and usually include breakfast and laundry as well. They are predictable, which is worth a lot.

The villa and condo resorts give you far more space per dollar and vary more. Units are often individually owned and furnished, so condition is less consistent, and most of these resorts sell timeshare alongside nightly stays.

The trade-off

A kitchen means somebody shops and somebody cooks, on a holiday. It saves real money and it also creates a chore. Most families find the answer is to cook breakfast and one dinner rather than every meal.

Common questions

Which Orlando hotels have full kitchens?

The extended-stay brands, Homewood Suites, Residence Inn, Hyatt House, Staybridge Suites, TownePlace Suites and Element, include a kitchen as a brand standard. So do the villa and condo resorts in Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee and on International Drive.

Do Disney hotels have kitchens?

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort have full kitchens, and Disney Vacation Club villas have them in the one-bedroom units and larger. Studios and standard resort rooms do not.

Is a kitchen worth it in Orlando?

For four or more people staying five nights or more, usually yes. The saving on breakfast alone is meaningful, and it removes the worst of the theme park food pricing. For a couple on a three-night trip it rarely pays for the extra rate.

Are there grocery stores near the Orlando hotels?

Yes, throughout the Lake Buena Vista, Kissimmee and International Drive areas. Several supermarkets also deliver, which is worth arranging for arrival day if you are staying in a villa with a kitchen.
