Walt Disney World Swan hotel beside the lake in the EPCOT area

Walt Disney World Swan

The Swan gives you an EPCOT-area address and a Marriott booking, which is an unusual and often cheaper combination.

30-Second Verdict

Book the Swan if you want the EPCOT walking path at a Marriott rate, or if you are spending Marriott points. Skip it if you want the full Disney resort experience, because it is not a Disney Resort hotel and its benefits are defined separately.

Best for

  • Marriott members spending or earning points
  • EPCOT and Hollywood Studios weighted itineraries
  • Business travelers using the convention facilities
  • Guests who want a Deluxe location without a Disney rate

Skip it if

  • You want the full Disney resort experience and theming
  • Your itinerary is mostly Magic Kingdom
  • You need a room for six
  • You expect Disney resort benefits to apply automatically

Location and park fit

The Swan sits in the EPCOT resort area alongside Disney's Beach Club, Yacht Club and BoardWalk Inn, with the same waterside path to the EPCOT International Gateway and a boat to Hollywood Studios.

Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are reached by bus, which is longer from this corner of the property.

Rooms and family fit

Standard rooms sleep four, with suites for five. Rooms were refurbished more recently than several of the Disney Deluxe resorts nearby, which is worth noting when comparing rates.

Transport and mobility

A walking path to EPCOT, a boat to Hollywood Studios and Disney buses to the other two parks. No car required.

Park benefits

The Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve sit on Disney property and are operated by Marriott, so their guest benefits are set separately from Disney Resort hotels and have included early entry at times.

Disney sets which hotels qualify for Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, and has changed both. Confirm the current rules on the official Walt Disney World site before booking for a benefit.

Pool and rest-day fit

The Swan and Dolphin share a grotto pool with a water slide and a spa. It is a good pool complex, and it is not Stormalong Bay next door, which is limited to Beach Club and Yacht Club guests.

Cost beyond the room

As a Marriott property rather than a Disney one, the fee and parking arrangements differ from Disney's. Confirm the current resort fee and self-parking charge directly with the hotel, because they are a real part of the comparison against a Disney Deluxe rate.

The trade-off

You get an EPCOT-area walking path and Marriott pricing, and you give up Disney resort status, Disney theming and the certainty that every Disney resort benefit applies.

Alternatives worth comparing

Book this hotel

Rates in Orlando move constantly and depend on your dates, so check the current price rather than working from any figure on a website. Confirm resort fees, parking charges and any theme park benefit directly with the hotel or the park before you book.

Common questions

Is the Walt Disney World Swan a Disney hotel?

It is on Disney property and operated by Marriott. It is not a Disney Resort hotel, and its guest benefits are set separately by Disney rather than following the Disney resort package automatically.

Can you walk to EPCOT from the Swan?

Yes, along the waterside path to the EPCOT International Gateway, the same route used by the Disney Deluxe resorts in this area.

Can Swan guests use Stormalong Bay?

No. Stormalong Bay is limited to guests of Disney's Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts. The Swan and Dolphin share their own grotto pool.
